6Northrop Grumman E-2D Advanced Hawkeye – Price: $232 million
The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is the latest version of the E-2 and is currently under development.
There are currently two versions of it, ‘Delta One’ and ‘Delta Two’, that are being tested and are undergoing Initial Operational Test and Evaluation.
After the testing is over, these 2 will be combined in order to create a final order.
The American twin-turboprop aircraft was designed during the late 1950s and early 1960s as a replacement for the earlier E-1 Tracer, also dubbed ‘Willy Fudd’.
And because of this replacement, the E-2 Hawkeye also received the nickname ‘Super Fudd’.
