The Boeing C17A Globemaster III is a large military transport plane, developed for the U.S. Air Force from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas.
It usually performs troops and cargo transportation throughout the world, strategic airlift missions, and additionally performs roles as airdrop duties and medical evacuation
The plane took its first flight on September 15, 1991 and, aside from the U.S., it is in service with the U.K., Australia, United Arab Emirates, India, Kuwait, Canada, Qatar and NATO Airlift Wing.
The C-17 is 54-meter long and has a wingspan of about 170 feet.
