4. Caran d’Ache 1010 Diamonds ($1 million)
The forth most expensive pen in the world is the Caran d’Ache 1010 Diamonds Limited Edition Fountain Pen. The regular 1010 fountain pen may cost around $19,000 only. But thanks to the additional encrusted diamonds, this limited edition pen goes way beyond that price.
The name 1010 represents a clocked time, 10 minutes after 10. As you can see from the picture above, this pen has a wristwatch-like design. Its barrel replicates the watch movements.
Being a Swiss company, Caran d’Ache wanted to honor the country’s watch-making industry through this pen. And the diamonds limited edition is here to make sure they got that message right.
This special edition pen is studded with 850 pure diamonds. And the body is crafted from white gold. The cap of this amazing writing instrument has been given a 26-line of 22 baguette-cut diamonds. With such luxury, it should come as no surprise that it is worth $1 million.
