The pen features an exquisite design representing Gothic art and architecture. You can see this in both of its body and its cap which features six rhodium-coated sterling silver faces. And its fleur de lis and rosettes elements speak nothing but the word Gothic.
In terms of its luxury, the pen is encrusted with all sorts of gems. First of all, more than eight hundreds diamonds are encrusted onto its body and its cap. These diamonds weigh a total of 7.1 carats. And in addition to that, equal amount of rubies and emeralds (72) are also encrusted onto the special pen.
Not long after this Caran d’Ache Gotica pen was revealed, it was sold to a rich anonymous in China. He bought it for 3.28 million Chinese Yuan (or around $487,000 today).
