5.Hearst Castle – $10 million
California surely has something to be proud about!
Besides its amazing restaurants, California also has two of the most expensive pools in the world, which together cost around $10 million.
Built in 1924 and 1936, the pools are made to resemble ancient Roman baths and would be extremely hard to replicate. With priceless marble and tile mosaics, both pools are surrounded by expensive objects of art.
The outdoor Neptune pool has 8 feet (32 by 18 meters), while the indoor Roman pool is a little smaller.
The mansion where the pools are located can be visited by tourists all year round, and several times a year there are benefit auctions for people to bid a one-night-stay at the mansion, and that includes, of course, a swim in the luxurious pools.
