As we said before, Eric Clapton placed second on the Rolling Stone Magazine’s ‘100 greatest guitarists of all time’ list.
So, obviously, many guitars passed through his hands.
One of them was ‘Blackie’, his main solo stage guitar from 1970 to 1985. Fender Stratocaster is very popular in this top list.
The black guitar was placed for auction by Christie’s in June, 2004. At the end, the guitar was sold for 874.092, 5 times more than they expected.
The proceeds went to the Crossroads Center, a treatment center chose by Eric Clapton, located in Antigua.
