N3: Hyperion Pininfarina – $6 million
The number three on the most expensive Rolls Royce cars in the world list is a custom-built one-off car by Pininfarina and it’s derived from the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe.
This beauty was first presented in 2008 at the Concours d’Elegance, America’s most important competition for historical classic and one-off cars.
Its name, Hyperion, comes from the Greek mythology, and was chosen in order to underline the power of it, architecturally and figuratively speaking.
With a top speed of 250 km/h, the 460 hp one of a kind luxury car is equipped with a 6.75 litre V12 RWD engine and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
Apart from the wooden doors, Pininfarina chose carbon fiber for the bodywork and not the aluminum space frame that was used on the original Drophead Coupe.
In creating this amazing one-off luxury car, the designers had as inspiration the opulent cars of the 1930’s, and it turned out simply stunning.
