5. Ahimsa ($80 million)
Entering the top five of our most expensive sailboats list is the world’s tenth largest sailboat, Ahimsa. With its 66-meter length, it is currently the largest one built by Vitters, Netherlands, since it was launched in 2011.
In terms of size, Ahimsa’s length is not the only thing that excels. Its advanced sloop rig is one of the tallest in the world. Plus, its 83-meter carbon fiber had to be delivered in two pieces from Southern Spars to Netherlands because it was simply too big.
In addition to those, the world’s largest artwork on canvas is featured within this boat. It is a customized sail art designed by Magne Furuholmen, Norwegian artist. Redman Whiteley Dixon, who designed the interior, may have something to do with that. As for its exterior, it was designed by Dubois Naval Architects.
This sailboat is equipped by a huge composite rudder from Green Marine. This amazing feature allows Ahimsa to perform outstandingly in terms of steering and maneuvering.
