4. Aquijo ($85 million)
Forth on our list is Aquijo, the world’s third largest sailboat ever built. This unique boat was a result of Vitters and Oceanco’s collaborative work. From there, you should get the idea why it cost $85 million to build.
There is not much disclosed information about Aquijo. But we know for sure that this 85-meter long boat was built last year in Netherlands by the two Dutch shipyards. They all worked closely with the current owner, who also remains unknown, to build this mega sailboat.
We also know that the exterior was designed by Bill Tripp and the interior was by Dölker + Voges. The interior layout provides clear sight lines due to its high-volume superstructure.
They claim that Aquijo is highly complex. Yet, it is also a performance-driven sailing machine. So, are you interested to custom-design your own version of this aluminum ketch-rigged sailboat?
