9. M5 ($50 million)
Launched in 2004, M5 (previously known as Mirabella V) is a sloop-rigged super yacht. With its 78.4-meter length, it is the largest single-masted yacht ever built. And it is also the world’s sixth largest in general.
Vosper Thorneycroft (VT Shipbuilding) of Southampton, England, built this sloop. The exterior was designed by Ron Holland for Joe Vittoria. The American yachtsman had it for seven years before reselling it.
As for the interior, it was designed by Luciana Vittoria herself. Then, a new buyer came along with $50 million in his pocket and new ideas regarding the boat. Thus, some changes were made, including its name.
Besides that, the boat was extended by 3.2 meters. Redman Whiteley Dixon was in charge with the refit interior designing. Since it was relaunched in 2013, it can carry up to twelve guests.
