7. Sybaris ($70 million)
Sybaris is the world’s seventh most expensive and eighth largest sailboat, also second largest one built by Perini Navi. What makes it so? In terms of size, it is 70-meter long. And in terms of building cost, it is estimated around $70 million.
The exterior was designed by Philippe Briand. And the interior was by PH Design. Sybaris is relatively new since it was launched earlier this year. Perini Navi built it for Bill Duker, who owns more than one superyachts.
This sailboat is powered by two MTU 16V 2,000 M72 diesel engines which can take you up to 17.5 knots on water. It can carry up to twelve guests inside six exclusive cabins. And to cater those guests’ needs, eleven crews can get on board.
The name, Sybaris, comes from a drakaina of Greek mythology known for his hedonism. Sounds about right? It is also a name of a place in Magna Graecia, Italy, which was named after the drakaina.
