Most Expensive Screenplays | Top 10
Once again, I prepared another one for the curious cinephiles: the most expensive screenplays ever sold!
Everybody loves watching a good movie, if not every night like some of us, at least once in a while. And we enjoy the captivating story, the special effects, the entire sensation that these movies give us.
And some of them seem like they have a story that’s worth a million bucks, but did you ever wonder just how much those stories actually worth?
Neither did I, until one day when this idea popped into my head and I couldn’t get it out. I just had to find out! And today I’m going to share with you what I found out.
10.Mozart and the Whale – $2.75 Million
Unfortunately, we start this list with a failure.
Remember the movie Mozart and the Whale? If not, then I’m sure you at least saw the movie Rain Main. Well, the script of Rain Man, which is actually very similar to the one for Mozart and the Whale, was written by Ron Bass and it was the screenplay that made him famous.
The screenplay of Mozart and Whale brought Ron Bass the total of 2.75 million dollars, which was actually a lot more than the total earnings of the movie itself!
With a budget of 12 million dollars for making the movie, it only succeeded to earn 36,000 dollars!
Talk about a total loss! But at least Ron got his money.
