We Ranked 15 Most Expensive Street Foods in the World

10. Luxury Zebra Cro. Doughnut ($1,873)

The word “doughnut” first appeared in 1803 English volume under American recipes appendix. Then in the 19th century, donut became incredibly popular. Even though it was considered to have originated in America, the most expensive donut in the world was made in London.

Earlier this year, artisan donut chef and owner of Dum Dum Donuttery in London, Paul Hurley, made this special donut. Dubbed with Luxury Zebra Cro., this donut is made of the world’s rarest and specially sourced ingredients.

After months of testing flavor combinations with some ingredients, Chef Hurley was finally able to create his donut using the world’s most expensive chocolate (Amedei Porcelana Chocolate), Iranian saffron infused butter croissant dough, Cristal Rose Champagne caviar, and Tahitian gold vanilla beans.

This so-called donut-croissant hybrid was bundled with £1,500 ($1,873) price tag. And it was available during the launch of Just Eat Food Fest in London on July 2016.
