3. Narendra Modi’s Suit ($693,174)
We are entering the top three of our most expensive suits list!
And what a way to start the podium-run with one of the world leaders’ suit. Last year, it was put up on an auction along with hundreds of other gifts received by the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. All the money went to his campaign of cleaning the Ganga River.
This suit has the Prime Minister’s name embroidered into its pinstripes. Those pinstripes were discussed in the social media like Kim Kardashian’s selfie posts back then.
Well, let’s put the controversy aside and focus and the suit. As you can see, Modi was wearing it when he met Barack Obama in New Delhi.
Laljibhai Tulsibai Patel, a diamond baron and private airline owner, bought this suit for 43,131,311 Indian Rupees (or $693,174) at the auction. It automatically put the suit on top of Guinness World Records’ most expensive suit sold at auction.
