We start this list with the 13th Century Kamakura Longsword.
The item was sold at an auction in 1992 after Dr. Walter Ames Compton passed away and his collection of swords were taken to auction.
It was then when a man named Mr. Inami bought, besides many other items, the Kamakura Longsword, a weapon also known as tachi.
I don’t even want to know how much money Mr. Inami spent at that auction given the fact that only the sword itself was $340,000!
