6. Terra Nova: $3.9 million per episode
Terra Nova follows a family that left a dying future Earth to settle in the past Earth along with other survivors.
The series only aired for one season, from September to December of 2011. Fox said nothing about why they decided to cancel such an amazing show, even if the fans were impatient for a new season.
The series, created by Kelly Marcel, tells us the story of a family that struggle to survive in a place where dinosaurs rule, which is a bit similar to Land of the Lost.
One episode took up to nine days of shooting, but what really drove up costs were the six weeks of post-production, double the average for a TV show.
