4. Deadwood: $4.5 million per episode
Three seasons, from March 2004 to August 2006, that’s how much the show lasted and enjoyed its successful times.
For a short time, the western series were back, but that time ended quickly and now they are gone again.
The plot of the series told us the story of the nineteenth-century in Dakota Territory with fictional and historical figures like Seth Bullock, Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. As expected, the series had an expansive set and large ensemble of actors that racked up production costs.
Despite their high ratings, the studios decided the drop the project and instead planed for a two-part movie.
But neither the film project stood a chance. Even to this day, fans are still hoping that the Deadwood movie will be turned into something more than dreams.
