And the most expensive university in the world is Columbia University of Upper Manhattan, New York. In 1754, Columbia University was founded as King’s College by King George II of England. Then it was changed into Columbia University in the City of New York (simply called Columbia University).
It is the fifth oldest institution of high education in United States and the first in New York. Since it was first founded, it has been a home to many notable alumni. Among them are Barack Obama, John Jay, and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The university takes around 27,000 students per year. Some of them, who took the 12-month Postdoctoral Extern-ship program, had to pay $79,822 per semester ($159,644 per year) of tuition fee.
