When it was first founded in 1838, Duke University was actually located in Trinity. Then several decades later in 1892, it was moved to where it is today, Durham, North Carolina, United States. Location is not the only thing that changed. The university’s name did as well. It was first called the Brown’s Schoolhouse. Only after 1924, it is finally called the Duke University.
