How prices compare with the old list
Valentino’s top prices have moved from four figures to five. The previous version of this article, written years ago, put the most expensive items in the low thousands, with a camouflage backpack at $1,995 and a bootie at $1,775. We do not have last year’s price list, so we cannot say which prices are new records. What we can say is that the ceiling at the time of writing is $25,000, set by a goatskin coat, and that the Valentino Cruise 2026 selection includes gowns at $20,000 and $13,000.
What drives these prices
- Embroidery and hours of work. The gowns at the top are embroidered or beaded by hand.
- Fur and shearling. Coats in shearling and goatskin cost more than wool coats of the same cut.
