We’re going to talk about the Most Expensive Video Games Ever Created!
Do you like to play video games?
As the technology is always evolving, new and better games are going to be released every year.
Until the new games are on the market and we get the chance to see them, we are going to stick with the existing ones.
The new release of a game doesn’t imply that the new games are going to be expensive. But that doesn’t imply that the game are going to be cheaper either.
Until that happens and until we get a chance to compare their prices, let’s get to the most expensive games ever created.
#5. Final Fantasy VII – $145 million
Published and developed by Square, the game was launched in January 1997 in Japan for the PlayStation.
After the game was released a huge three-month-long marketing campaign followed in the United States. The campaign included TV and theatrical commercials, a holiday promotion with Pepsi and print ads.
As the seventh title in the Final Fantasy series, the game is by far the best-selling installment.
Final Fantasy VII was the first installment from its series to be launched in Europe and it also was the first one to use 3D graphics and rendered models.
And by that, I mean it provided the players with a more lifelike look of the characters.
With the sum adjusted for inflation, the total costs of making the game were $214 million.
Final Fantasy VII became the fastest-selling PSN game within two weeks of its release; it was downloaded more than 100,000 times.
