Most Expensive Vinyl Records in the World

7- Acetate LP by Velvet Underground and Nico (1966)

Price: $25,200

With only one copy of the record in existence there are no surprises when it comes to its price tag.

The vinyl record was found at a stoop sale in New York along with two other records. The seller wasn’t aware of its true value, and only accepted 75 cents for it.

The new owner, Warren Hill sold this early version of Velvet Underground’s debut album for $25,000 in 2006.

The group’s agent, Andy Warhol assembled the acetate for shopping the labels.

What is awesome is that the tracks are in a different order than on the debut album, and “European Son” has more of a blues feel.
