His success is due to a chance he had in 1970 when, Manolo met Diana Vreeland, the editor-in-chief of U.S. Vogue.
Manolo showed her his portfolio of fashions and set design and her reaction was: “Young man, do things, does accessories, do shoes.” And this is how the great shoe designer was born.
