A series of letters written by Anne Frank to her and her sister’s pen pal in Danville, Iowa were sold for $166,000.
Anne Frank is mostly known for her diary, which was found after the war ended, but there were other written works she made which made a pretty good amount of money.
Before the invasion of The Netherlands in 1940, Anne Frank and her sister used to write to their pen pal which lived in Danville, Iowa.
Other objects that managed to survive the war. The items sold included two letters, a postcard, and two-passport-size photographs.
The letters were authenticated by the director of the Anne Frank Center in Amsterdam and sold by Swann Galleries in October 1988.
