As you well know, Al Capone is the most famous gangster in the world.
The Chicago gangster, Alphonse Gabriel Capone, was born on January 17, 1899, and gained worldwide fame during the Prohibition era, and a fortune of $1.3 billion.
Apparently, Al Capone was a jinx at a young age. When Capone was 14 years old, he was expelled from Catholic school for assaulting a teacher. He never returned.
Instead, he met Johnny Torrio and his gang. In a knife fight, Al Capone got a scar, earning him the nickname ‘Scarface’.
The gangster was involved in several gangs hits in history, and probably the most infamous one was the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre, when he ordered the hit against his rival, Bugs Moran and his Northsiders gang.
He spent his last years at his mansion, in Florida. On January 25, 1947, Al Capone died in his home, after having a stroke and a fatal cardiac arrest 2 days earlier.
