#8: Antwerp
Located in Belgium, this city might seem small and insignificant compared to others, but when it comes to fashion heritage, the city’s got its part on the fashion industry.
All that thanks to Antwerp and its legendary Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
Their famous institution helped build the careers of Martin Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester and Kriss Van Assche.
That and the fact that Dior director and fearlessly challenging designer Raf Simons still draws inspiration from Antwerp today, makes the city an important and influential one in the fashion industry.
For a city so rich in history, Antwerp continues to make its mark on our world thanks to the efforts of its truly legendary avant-garde designers.
Stores like ra, Graanmarkt 13, Houben, Renaissance, and Coccodrillo can be found there.
