8. Czech Republic
Number eight in our Most Peaceful Countries in the World Top 10 is a landlocked country in Central Europe.
Formerly known as Bohemia, the Czech Republic was formed in the late 9th century as a small duchy around Prague.
Czech Republic gained its independence from the Soviet Bloc back in 1989 due to the Velvet Revolution and its subsequent split with Slovakia, after which it has largely concentrated on building a strong capitalist economy and creating a stable climate for investment.
In 2009 Czech Republic was ranked by the Human Development Index as the country with a “Very High Human Development.”
And let’s not forget that the Czech Republic is known worldwide for their outstanding art in glass and crystal.
