The name of the cocktail pretty much sums up what it’s made of, meaning strained pineapple. Piña Colada was and still is Puerto Rico’s first official cocktail.
The drink is made out of rum, coconut cream and pineapple juice and has a sweet taste. It is usually shaken or blended with ice, with a maraschino cherry or pineapple wedge on top.
