I don’t know if you have heard yet but Jared Leto won an Oscar for the best supporting actor for the role he amazed all of us with it in the movie Dallas Buyers Club and had the most touching speech.
You may be wondering who is this “Jared Leto”? His journey began on December 26, 1971 and since there he never stopped dreaming and believing. He is an American actor, singer-songwriter, musician, director, producer, activist, philanthropist, photographer and businessman.
Started his “fame” early, in the ’90s with his first appearance on TV. In 1998 he started the band you may know these days as “30 Seconds To Mars” along with his older brother Shannon Leto. I have gave you and summary of what’s Jared was and how that is reflecting in his present.
His mother was his company for the red carpet and to entirely evening. In the speech he gave when he won the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actor he talked about his mother:
In 1971. Bossier City, Louisiana. A teenage girl finds out she’s pregnant with her second child. She’s a high school drop out. A single mom. But against all odds, she manages to make a better life for herself and her children. She teaches them to be creative. To work hard. And reach for the impossible. That girl is my mother and she’s here tonight. Mom, I love you thank you for teaching me to dream.
The role was about Rayon, a victim of the AIDS and how the people with this disease manage to stay alive.
In his speech he also talked about 30 Seconds to Mars and the relationship he has with his older brother Shannon.
To my brother, Shannon. Thank you for sharing the incredible adventure with me that is Thirty Seconds to Mars. You are a true artist and the best big brother in the world.
Recently the band started a world tour “Mars is coming” and on 5th July they will be in Romania, if you want to see them.
At the Oscars, Jared Leto also said:
To all the dreamers around the world watching this right now, from the Ukraine to Venezuela – We think of you as you struggle to bring to life the dreams that fill your heart. The impossible is possible, and we believe.
This particular paragraph was cut from the Russian telecast because the obvious tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
And because his role was about the AIDS he had to say something about all the people who have died in the past because of this illness. He ended the most touching speech at the Oscars with the following:
And to anyone who ever felt injustice because of who they are or who they love. Tonight, I stand before the world, with you and for you.
