And the most visited country in the world is France.
Known to be probably the most romantic country in the world, France attracted around 83 million visitors in 2013, and a great amount of them are Japanese.
Idealized as a very romantic place, Paris literally shocks Japanese people which are struck by the Paris Syndrome. This medical condition mainly affects women in their thirties, who are overwhelmed by the difference between the Japanese and the French culture.
And no, I am not joking. In 2006 alone the Japanese embassy provided a special flight for 4 people which were so shocked, they needed a medical team to accompany them.
It surely sounds weird, but you have to admit, France’s romanticism is probably a bit over-rated due to TV and cinema. But nevertheless, France is an amazing country to visit, some of its important attractions being the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Elysée Boulevard, the Palace of Versailles and of course, St. Tropez and the French Riviera, important celebrity hot spots.
So don’t hesitate to visit France, and please, careful of the Paris Syndrome!
