9.Russia: 28.4 million
One of the most visited countries in the world is Russia.
Even though it might seem like quite a difficult country to visit due to the complicated political problems, a lot of tourists choose to visit Russia.
With 28.4 million international visitors as of 2013, Russia was the ninth most popular country in the world. But there is no certainty that the number will be as high in the future.
Either way, the country has a lot of great things to offer, from adrenaline-filled winter sports, to the Black Sea coastline, the domed Orthodox Churches of St. Petersburg, the Golden Ring of ancient cities, cruises on the big rivers like the Volga, and long journeys on the famous Trans-Siberian Railway, or Moscow’s Red Square with one of the lowest temperatures being -42.2 degrees Celsius.
