Famous for his role in The Godfather, Marlon Brando didn’t even bother to pick up the Oscar he won for Best Actor.
In protest of the treatment of Native Americans in film, Native American actress, Sacheen Littlefeather appeared on the podium in his place and refused to accept the golden statue.
The American actor and one-time director did a 1999 ad for Pepsi.
In the commercial a cute little girl asked for a Pepsi and was given something else, disrespecting her. Then her voice changed to that of Brando’s Vito Corleone as she asked again for her Pepsi.
And she got it. Aired during the Oscars, the ad drew the anger of the National Italian American Foundation and was pulled.
