However, these are some major attractions that became overrated and they don’t deserve all the attention they get.

10Stonehenge, England
We begin our top list with Stonehenge, one of the most popular European monuments, as well as one of the costliest.
Located in Wilshire, England, this site was built between 3000 B.C. and 2000 B.C., with a construction cost of $13 billion.
Seeing this group of stones is on many people’s bucket list.
However, you should know that this site is enclosed by a security fence, a thing you won’t see in those picturesque postcards.
Also, you’ll have to pay an entrance fee to the park.
All for what? To see some stones, and from a distance. You cannot even touch the monument.
9Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt
Let’s face it! Yes, it’s an impressive monument. The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Cheops or the Pyramid of Khufu, is the largest and oldest of the 3 pyramids in the Giza Necropolis, Egypt.
It is also the oldest of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.
The bad part here is that the place is filled with some of the world’s most aggressive merchants in the world.
In order to get to the Pyramid of Giza, you’ll have to pass many merchants trying to sell you all kinds of stuff.
If this isn’t enough, once you’re there, you can’t touch or climb the pyramid.
8Prague Astronomical Clock, Czech Republic
Is this really your idea of fun? Located in Czech Republic, this tourist attraction is the oldest of its kind.
Built into a side of a very old building that apparently is the new tourism center for Prague, the astronomical clock attracts more tourists year after year.
Why? Just to see a trap door that opens at every hour on the hour and a bunch of mechanical beings come out to tell the hour.
And that’s all.
But yes, if this is more fun for you than party in some exotic destination, go for it!
7Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, England
Located in London, the wax museum has branches in several major cities.
Founded by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud, this overrated tourist attraction displays waxworks of historical, royal, film stars, infamous murderers, sports stars and so on.
However, millions of tourists seem to get a lot of pleasure out of posing next to these wax figures. And that’s so overrated!
6London Eye, England
London, a city with some of the greatest museums in the world, and we’re not talking about Madame Tussauds wax museum, and they decided to turn a Ferris, amusement-park-like wheel into a top attraction. Go figure.
Nowadays, when you say London, the first tourist attraction that comes first in your head is the London Eye.
Perhaps because is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe and the UK’s most popular paid tourist attraction.
That sounds like a must-see, but not necessarily means that should be a must-do.
5Hollywood Walk of Fame, California
Guys, it’s a sidewalk! Don’t expect to see real celebrities!
With a reported 10 million visitors in 2003, the Hollywood Walk of Fame attracts more tourists than other attractions that are really worth seeing!
It’s a 15-blocks long street with more than 2.500 terrazzo and brass stars embedded in it, and shops on the sides.
However, if having a picture on the Walk of Fame means that much to you, then you got to do what you got to do!
4Manneken Pis, Belgium
Manneken Pis, meaning ‘Little Man Pee’ in Marols, French, is a landmark bronze sculpture in Brussels, designed by Hieronymus Duquesnoy the Elder.
The sculpture depicts a naked little boy urinating into a fountain’s basin.
And that’s exactly why this small statue is so famous.
Why people are attracted to see someone pee into a fountain, we don’t know.
What we do know is that the statue is definitely an overrated tourist attraction.
3Times Square, New York City
The city that never sleeps has numerous tourist attractions, and a major one is Times Square.
It’s a must-see attraction to every human being that arrives in the state.
However, all you’ll find here are many neon signs, lots of billboards, restaurants and people checking their maps and phones.
Instead, you should check out New York’s Museum Mile, located on Fifth Avenue.
2The Little Mermaid, Denmark
First things first. The statue on display is a copy of the original.
Located in Copenhagen, Denmark, The Little Mermaid was created by Edvard Eriksen, measuring 1.25 meters in height and 175 kilograms in weight.
Almost every tourist who visits Copenhagen ends up along the waterfront.
The statue has suffered a lot, with an arm that has been sawed off, as well as the head, and paint has been smeared.
Not what you expected to see, comparing with Hands Christian Anderson’s Little Mermaid.
1The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Italy
Located in the Italian city of Pisa, the Leaning Tower is probably the most overrated tourist attraction.
