Hello and welcome back my architecture fans! Today I have another special residence perfect for you. The home is called Prince Philip Residence and, as the title suggests, you will be able here to live like a royal person, enjoying only the most exclusive features that exist.

The Prince Philip Residence is located in Montreal, Canada and it was originally built in 1960 as a single-storey residence. But the owners wanted more so they called the Thellend Fortin Architectes for a new and modern expansion of the residence.

” This project involved the expansion of a spacious single-story Outremont residence built in the 1960s. Situated on a site with a steep incline and majestic view, the two-floor expansion was designed to offer a generous window on the horizon. ” says the leanding archtiect from Thellend Fortin Architectes.

The project consisted in the addition of living spaces in the form of a long ribbon ” situated laterally to and in line with the contours of the existing structure. ” The purpose of the ribbon concept is to fold and unfold offering multiple exquisite views of the landscape.

” The extension takes advantage of the site’s unique topography, overlooking the pool and landscaped terrace like a mirador. ”

The Thellend Fortin Architectes is a marvelous architecture team founded by Louis Thellend and Lisa-Marie Fortin with projects published in Architecture du Québec, Contemporist, world-architects, Dwell and many more.
