Despite not being known among the richest cities in the world, Dublin is among the most prosperous ones, with a CPI of 0.929. More recently the city is well known for 2 sectors: technology and hospitality.
The second one may seem obvious, with the famous Guinness beer, but the technology is a bit more surprising. Yahoo, LinkedIn, Google, Facebook, all have EU headquarters in Dublin.
The city is now considered to be ‘#1 tech start up city in Europe.’
We can only say ‘Good Job, Dublin!’ It deserves to be in our top list, giving the fact that Ireland was largely bypassed by the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century, but saw a dramatic economic reversal in the 1990s.
