5.1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88
Our next rare American muscle car is the 1967 Chevrolet Corvette L88.
Quantity: 20 Produced
With quite an interesting marketing approach, Chevrolet produced the Corvette L88s in 1967 and 1968, them being designed for professionals, with the purpose of racing.
The company thought that its 427 cubic inch big block engine would make them dangerous for street driving, due to the added power. Chevrolet stated that the L88 engine produced 435 horsepower, which is just slightly higher than a regular Corvette, making the L88 seem not so amazing when compared to the regular Chevy.
Individuals have shown that the engine produced from 540 to 560 horsepower, but anyway, Chevrolet stopped producing the L88 because of the increased emissions. The rarest were the 1967s, only 20 of them being produced.
