5. Fuel is Another Problem
All vehicles need fuel to keep the engine running. Just like cars, every type of yacht requires different amount of fuel. It depends on three main things: engine type, yacht’s size, and its speed.
Some engines consume less fuel. Some others produce great power with a huge amount of fuel consumption. It depends on your preference: distance or time?
Do not forget that you cannot risk going to the sea without enough fuel. That big luxurious yacht of yours is not built to be stranded. So how much fuel do you need to put in before you sail?
A luxurious 200-foot yacht spends around $2,500 an hour on fuel with 15 to 22 knots cruising speed. So, for a four-hour cruise on your expensive yacht, you need extra $10,000 for fuel alone.
