14. London has always been multicultural and diverse, so everyone fits in!
London is one of the most multicultural cities in the whole world, with major festivals and events to celebrate pretty much every culture and religion you can image going on all the time.
Various areas of the city have close ties to particular cultures, from the Irish to the West African. Millionaires generally choose to live in a few select areas, where the prices are particularly eye-watering, but the attraction of other people from the same culture and country as them can only make their move over to the UK more appealing. According to the 2011 census, 37% of the London population is foreign-born, some of the major groups being Pakistani, Indian, Irish, Jamaican and Chinese.
In 2014, it was estimated that 150,000 Russians were living in London – one of the latest groups to come to London to spend their money. There are also 366,769 British Arabs in the UK as a whole, the majority living in London.
