Why This Residence In Megara Is Perfect For A Eco-Minded Couple
I always love a design that combines architecture with nature or the surrounding elements and this Residence in Megara totally has one. T
he house is located on the plains of Attica in Greece and it was designed by the Athens-based architectural firm Tense Architecture Network ( TAN ).
The residency offers incredible views over the nearby Geraneia Mountain and the surrounding of Megara region. The clients are an eco-minded couple that wanted a perfect house on their plot there.
The Residence in Megara was nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award 2015, everyone being very excited about how this house combines its solid design with the natural flow of the surroundings.
With the courtesy of Petros Perakis we are able to see with our own eyes if this design deserves a prize or not. Check it out!
The luxury home has triangular plan divided into four sections : two courtyards and two living spaces. The north living spaces feature a sitting area, a dinning room and a kitchen.
All of the living spaces are orientated to the mountains offering mesmerizing views in the morning when the sun comes up. Also, if you want more privacy, the living spaces feature a curved golden curtain that can be used according to your desire.
The southern entrance leads to the private parts of the home where you can find a en suite bedroom with a separate bathroom and a guest room. This two sections of the house are linked with a glass enclosed foyer.
The house, as I said earlier, features two open courtyards that give balance to the house’s modern design. This is how the architects wanted to connect interior space with the nature outside.
