#1: George Washington – $525 Million
The first President of America (1789-1797) is also the first on our richest American Presidents of all time.
Elected unanimously as the first President of the United States in 1789, he attempted to bring rival factions together to unify the nation.
He was the Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War as well as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States.
Washington had this vision that America can have a well-financed national government that maintained neutrality in the wars raging in Europe.
His choices and some forms in government that he established during his time as President, are still used today. One example of those forms is the cabinet system and inaugural address.
But before the Presidential days, Washington was born in to the provincial gentry of Colonial Virginia.
At that time his family was rich; they were a wealthy planter family who owned tobacco plantations and slaves.
A part of his millions, are due to his family richness which he inherited. In total he owned 800 acres of Virginia farmland and 300 slaves.
Washington became an international icon for liberation and nationalism which often ranked him among top 3 presidents of U.S.

But let’s not forget those presidents that aren’t present today in our list: Abraham Lincoln, George H. W. Bush, John Quincy Adams, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and the list can go on.
With only 12 million dollars as his net worth, Barack Obama is the 44th and current President of the United States, and the first African American to hold the office.
