Bank of China
Considered the oldest bank in China, it has roots before 1912 when it was established officially by the president of that time.
He wanted to replace the Imperial Bank of China, a modern Chinese bank, because of political motives, and created one of the biggest state-owned banks in the country.
What is special about this bank? From its branches overseas you cannot access the money you deposited in the China branch because they are only affiliated with the mainland bank.
With its headqarters in Beijing, but also with important branches in New York, Malaysia , Lisbon or Montreal, the Bank of China has assets of 2.35 trillion dollars.
