Miguel Cabrera plays for the Detroit Tigers and is an eleven-time MLB All-Star.
Making his major league debut in 2003, he was the second-youngest baseball star to debut with the Marlins, aged just 20. Cabrera’s $248 million 8-year contract with the Tigers was record-breaking, larger than our no. 1 position Alex Rodriguez’s contract with the New York Yankees. Cabrera has since been surpassed by Giancarlo Stanton, but at the time it was the biggest contract ever signed by an MLB player.
After some legal problems, Cabrera is now teetotal and refuses to take part in the Tigers’ celebrations even if the champagne being sprayed is non-alcoholic.
