He is a chemical engineer, political activist, businessman, and philanthropist and is one of the richest billionaires in the world.
David co-owns and is the vice president of conglomerate Koch Industries, the second largest privately held company in the U.S.
Basically what Koch does is to provide founds towards conservative and libertarian political causes, and is a patron of the arts.
As a philanthropist Koch has pledged and/or donated over $600 million to medical research, education, and the arts since 2000. He is one of the good guys, or at least it appears to be.
