And the moment you all have been waiting, the richest cast member of Marvel Cinematic Universe is Samuel L. Jackson, of course.
They took a chance when cast Samuel L. Jackson to play a comic book character, because he isn’t entirely in the loop about comic books.
But once again, Marvel choice proved to be beneficial for everyone.
Before Jackson, Nick Fury was played by David Hasselhoff but decided to change it into Jackson.
Why? Because they noticed that the characters didn’t seem to age and decided to create a second line of comics called Ultimate that would take place in its own universe. Then they rebooted a number of characters in a more modern setting.
In those books the Avengers got their origins tied to Nick Fury.
More to the change, when rebooting the Fury character, artist Bryan Hitch actually modeled the character directly after Samuel L. Jackson.
So, they cast Jackson for the role.
