Ina Garten has been the host of her own cooking show, Barefoot Contessa on Food Network since 2002. The show was named after her former food store and her best-selling cookbook.
She did not have any professional training in culinary. She just learned from cookbooks and kept refining her recipes from people’s feedbacks.
She left her job as a staff member of the White House Office or Management and Budget to open her food store in New York. Then, she put in the successful dishes into recipes she wrote in her cookbooks.
Unfortunately, she has closed the food store. I guess she understands that most of her $44 million of net worth came from her TV career.
