7. Paula Deen ($16 million)
Paula Deen was a cooking show star before she faced a lawsuit. However, she bounced back and returned with her own cooking channel on Roku.
Food Network decided not to extend her contract after more than a decade of collaboration because of her racial epithet controversy. She was sued for using the N-word. The case was dismissed without any award of costs of fees to any party.
That is not the only allegation she had to face throughout her career. Her foods were criticized for the amount of fat, salt, and sugar in them. This controversy rocketed as she released Cookbook for the Lunch-Box Set. Aimed for children, some people think that book is telling parents to fatten their kids. Well, her wallet is also fattened with $16 million of net worth.
Paula appeared in several TV shows including two top cooking shows, Top Chef and MasterChef as guest judge.
