Soon she signed with the independent label Big Machine Records a deal that made her the youngest songwriter ever hired by the Sony/ATV music publishing house.
Because of the success her first album had back in 2006 she became a famous country music star.
Her fifth album released this year it sold more copies in its opening week than any album in the previous twelve years. That made her the first and only act to have three albums sell more than one million copies in a single week.
The singles “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space” reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
