1. Miuccia Prada: Net worth $5 billion
Prada took over her grandfather’s Milan luggage business in 1978 and turned it into one of the largest luxury groups in the world. She runs it with her husband, Patrizio Bertelli, and also created the Miu Miu line.
Her 1980s nylon backpack changed what a luxury bag could look like. The group has since added Jil Sander, Helmut Lang and Church’s.
Earlier estimates put her between $4.8 billion and $6.6 billion. We took a figure near the middle of that range, since the family keeps control of the group and it keeps growing.
2. Sara Blakely: Net worth $1.3 billion
Blakely cut the feet off a pair of pantyhose in 1998 and started Spanx with $5,000. In October 2021, Blackstone bought a majority stake at a $1.2 billion valuation, and she stayed on as executive chairwoman.
Before Spanx she sold fax machines door to door, which is a fine origin story for a billionaire.
The number rests on her remaining stake after the Blackstone deal, the $1.2 billion valuation, and her investments.
3. Tory Burch: Net worth $1 billion
Burch launched her label in February 2004 with a store in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood. The brand took off with the Reva flat, and she now holds the title of executive chairman and chief creative officer.
The Tory Burch Foundation, founded in 2009, backs women-owned small businesses with loans and mentoring.
Estimates have ranged from $850 million to $1 billion, and we used the top of the range because the company is still privately held and growing.
4. Vera Wang: Net worth $600 million
Wang spent years as an editor at Vogue and a figure skater before opening her own bridal salon in 1990. Her licensing deals did the rest: Simply Vera at Kohl’s, fragrances with Coty, and bridal lines with Pronovias and now David’s Bridal.
In December 2024, WHP Global agreed to buy the brand’s intellectual property. Wang stays as founder and chief creative officer and became a shareholder in WHP.

5. Donatella Versace: Net worth $400 million
Donatella, born 2 May 1955, ran Versace for nearly 28 years after her brother Gianni’s death in 1997. In March 2025 she stepped down as CEO and became chief brand ambassador, leaving the creative director job she held since 1997.
Her stake in the company was reported at about 20%, and Capri Holdings bought Versace in 2018 for $2.1 billion.
The figure is built from that stake at the Capri sale price and her salary and fees since.
6. Diane von Furstenberg: Net worth $350 million
Von Furstenberg introduced her wrap dress in 1974 and sold millions of them. She served as CFDA president from 2006 to 2019, and the company has been owned with husband Barry Diller and her family.
In 2026 the brand named Henry Zankov creative director. A 2024 documentary, Woman in Charge, told her story.
The number comes from the brand’s reported licensing value and a share of the family holdings.
7. Donna Karan: Net worth $300 million
Karan founded her label in 1984 and sold it to LVMH in 2001 in a deal reported at around $643 million. She stepped away from the company in 2015 to focus on Urban Zen, the lifestyle brand she founded in 2007.
