The 54-year-old American TV broadcaster underwent 8 chemotherapy treatments and 6 and a half weeks of radiation treatment for breast cancer and she built a campaign around her myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) that she was diagnosed with in 2012.
That campaign brought her a 2012 Peabody Award.
She began her broadcasting career as a sports anchor in Mississippi, working for multiple channels between 1983 and 1986, before moving to larger stations in Nashville, Tennessee, and then Atlanta, Georgia.
In December 2013, Robin reportedly signed a new contract with GMA that will pay her an estimated $14 million per year. That’s not a bad salary!
