Jim Furyk was born on May 12, 1970. He turned pro in 1992 and joined the PGA Tour two years afterwards. Throughout his entire golf career, he has won 27 professional tournaments.
Among those wins are 17 PGA Tour titles, including the one he won last year, the RBC Heritage. In addition to those, he has earned a total of $66,767,742 prize money which put him on 4th rank of our richest golfers list.
Jim is known for his unique swing. One of the golf commentators said that it looks like he is trying to swing inside a phone booth. Another one referred it as an octopus falling out of a tree.
Hence the popular image of a one-armed golfer using an axe to kill a snake in a telephone booth.
Jim is currently ranked 24th in the world. He was once the world number two in 2006.
